Coastline Atlas Black Sea

Water-ward space has aquired multi scalar agencies on urbanization processes in and around Istanbul and its adjacent, Black Sea. The shaping of land, water, and the coastal infrastructures in-between; constitute new edge conditions to be deciphered for emergent geopolitical roles of the region. The talk will focus on charting selected large scale projects that has emerged, realized, and speculated in Turkey in the recent years. It will discuss topics of urban commons, extra-state infrastructures, and energy flows through Canal Istanbul, Bridges over Straits of Bosphorus and Dardanelles, and the Natural gas pipelines across Black Sea.
